Matthew McCabe's European Football Extended Profile

Who am I?

I am a 2006 graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Sport Studies: Sport Management. I grew up engulfed in sports and have kept myself involved ever since. I played soccer growing up, but I have a great interest in sports beyond just the one I was successful in. I enjoy the NFL and MLB very much, and I also devote a good deal of time to following European football.

I have been a stay-at-home Dad to my daughter since she was born in late 2007. Nothing brings me more satisfaction in life than having a hand in shaping my daughter as a human being. The greatest things I've seen to date in my life have been the milestones she's reached. Our family is an on the go bunch, very active. Aside from physical activity we are on the go in pursuit of my wife's career goals. My wife is a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force and is working towards a career as a navigator. In 2 years of marriage we've lived in Minnesota, California, and now in Texas.

My goal is to bring an honest opinion and analysis to the world of sports. I won't hide behind anything, I will always write what I feel, and I will never backdown from what I think. That being said, I feel there is always room for another opinion. Consider my thoughts those of the average sports fan.

Career Goals

It is my goal to make a living doing something I truly enjoy. I don't want to have to go to bed any night with a sense of dread about the following day and what it might bring. Aside from my wife and daughter, sports are one of the most important things to me. Watching sports, witnessing the great moments, the ups and downs, the triumphs and tragedies is one of the greatest things in my opinion. Few things in life can generate true and raw emotion out of people like sports.
